NBA lockout may be longer than expected

Well, it’s bad news for basketball fans. The NBA owners and players have failed to reach a labor agreement, which means that the regular season will be postponed. The first two weeks of the regular season have been officially canceled, and some analysts are even projecting that the NBA season may be canceled altogether. It’s a troubling sign for a league that has regained some of the popularity it had in the 80s and 90s. But without a 2011-2012 season, some of that popularity could dwindle and bitter fans might not be as quick to support the league. However, loyal NBA fans will be waiting with baited breath for the season to start up again.

They’ll wake up in the morning, straighten their tie, polish their cufflinks, and head out the door with the hope of a new NBA labor agreement on the horizon.
